Joyful walks, trusted sitting, and a photo every visit.
Sundog started in 2015 when Rosa Fernwick — a vet-tech-turned-dog-walker — kept hearing the same worry from neighbors on the east side: "I trust you with my dog, but I have no idea what happens once you walk out the door." So she built the company around proof. Every walk is GPS-tracked. Every visit ends with a photo, a map, and a note. Ten years on, Sundog is a small, hand-picked team of insured, bonded, background-checked sitters who treat your keys and your pet like family — and never take on more clients than we can give a real meet & greet.
We’re intentionally small. We never take on more clients than we can give a real meet & greet, and we never sub your visit out to a stranger. The sitter you meet is the sitter who shows up.
Every Sundog sitter is insured, bonded, background-checked, and certified in pet first aid & CPR — and, yes, every one is a serious pet person.

Knows every park and sniff-spot from Tenney-Lapham to Schenk-Atwood. The calm hand high-energy dogs are looking for.

The overnight specialist. Patient with anxious pets, great with cats, and the reason a lot of east-side families finally take vacations.

Endless patience for puppy potty-training and skittish cats. Sends the most detailed pupdates on the team — and the best photos.
Every sitter is covered by commercial pet-care liability insurance and bonded against loss. Your home and your pet are protected on every visit.
We hand-pick a small team and run a national background check on every sitter before they ever hold a key. We never sub out to strangers.
Every Sundog sitter is certified in pet first aid and CPR, and carries a kit. We’re trained to stay calm and act fast if something goes wrong.
We never start cold. Before day one we meet you and your pet in your home, learn the routine, and make sure it’s a great fit — at no cost.
Keys are coded — never tagged with your address — and stored in a locked safe, or we use your lockbox or smart lock. Access is logged for every visit.
We keep your vet, your backup vet, and the nearest 24-hour ER on file, plus a signed care authorization, so we can act instantly in an emergency.
Every walk is GPS-tracked and every visit ends with a timestamped photo, map, and note. You always know your pet is happy and cared for.
If a visit ever falls short, tell us and we’ll make it right. We’d rather lose the fee than lose your trust.
We’ll come to your home, meet your pet, learn the routine, and make sure it’s a great fit — at no cost, with no pressure. It’s how every Sundog client starts.
